Got another layout made today. YaY!

Creative Imaginations is the background paper I used for "Bloom." I handcut flowers and stems and embellished them with rhinestone cluster brads, Glitz Frosting, Jenni Bowlin pearl flower accents, and brad and pearl centers. I added some Stickles glitter, Thickers letter stickers, two stick pins, buttons and trims and that was it!

This layout is on ebay this week under my seller name: armenian-princess. NFL football starts this week! whooo hoooo!! Any fantasy football players out there? xOxO

Hi Everyone!
I have been in a creative funk lately. All summer actually! But I snapped out of it momentarily thanks to my friend Kelly and made this layout today. Her cousin had a baby girl, Skylar, and she wanted me to make a framed layout for her nursery. I created this using House of 3 patterned paper. I cut the center of the paper out so this could be used as a cool frame. Kelly's cousin can slide a 5 X 7 (or a couple of 4 X 6's) right underneath. This way she can change out the photo whenever she wants to. Embellishments include crochet flowers, a pink and blue Prima pearl swirl, Prima pink rhinestone flowers, dew drops, a vintage earring and Maya Road floral accents. The lollipop is from the talented Lisa Kettel. Love Love Love Lisa! I hope everyone on the east coast is doing okay after Hurricane Irene. Stay well.

Hi Everyone!!

It's been over a month since I have been on blogger! It's nice to be creating again, and I made these four layouts for Halloween which I've listed on ebay under my seller name armenian-princess.

Summer has been exciting! It started out with Kyle splitting his forehead open right to the skull. Twenty eight stitches later, Ky is fine, thank God. He has a little scar, but he is so handsome, it's not too bad! He's taking drumming lessons and loves it.
Ava is doing well. She is taking voice lessons along with piano, and I don't know where her pretty voice comes from (not me!) but she is amazing at 8 years old!

We recently went to Las Vegas. I love it there and we had an awesome time! In fact, we're hoping to go back at the end of the year to meet up with my family!

School starts again this week (yayyyyyyy!) so I hope to have more time here catching up with you guys. Hope all of you have had a great summer! Miss you!!!!!

Here's my last project using the June Pink Ninjas kit "Isn't She Lovely - Oner Upper." The two packs of felties in this kit are so cute and I wasn't sure how I was going to use them, so I came up with the idea for this card. It's so nice having the two sets of letter stickers as well to mix and match. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!! Definitely lots of sunshine where we are. We are excited to have a pool, but each kid has wound up with a horrible ear infection from it...so we have to tackle that issue or summer will be hell around here!

It's been awhile since I've created an embellished house, but this month's Pink Ninjas kit "Isn't She Lovely - Oner Upper" was so jam packed with pretty things, it made for a fun, girlie dollhouse! With all of the trims and embellies in the kit, it was easy to create a house with lots to look at on every side!
I used a basic house kit made by Doodlebug to start. Almost everything other than the pink tissue fringe at the very bottom was in this kit. The full sheet of chipboard accents by Crate Paper were awesome and very vintage looking, which I love. I still have a lot left over! Studio Calico has these cute paper notions which I added to the rooftop and accented with tiny rhinestones. ~* a Sand Treasure Banner*~ The Pink Ninjas June Kit

We're getting ready for all the mermaids & mermen to arrive for Ava's 8th birthday/swim party! One of our activities is to hunt for buried treasures in the sand. I created this banner for it using the Pink Ninjas June "Isn't She Lovely Oner-Upper" kit. Love this kit! To create the banner, I cut the aqua patterned paper into 4 equal pieces. I then cut the pink lacey patterned paper to fit each of the bottom edges, like a ruffle. I added some silver glitter, handcut flowers as accents, and letter stickers for the title and tied everything together with the pink trims in the kit. (There are two packs of alpha stickers in this kit too! yayyy!) This kit has some awesome colors in it! (I'm in love with the two puffies packs from KI Memories! So cute!) Next week, I'll show my next 'huge' project using the very cool chipboard embellishments from Crate Paper!! In the meantime, it's "mermaid fever" at my house!!!

This is my little sweetie pie Ava at 5 months old! It's hard to believe she turned 8 years old yesterday! I used the adorable ~* Isn't She Lovely *~ "Oner Upper" June scrapbooking kit from the Pink Ninjas to create this sweet layout of her. I vowed that my HUGE Alice in Wonderland party would be the last big party I'd have for my kids. Wrong! The party bug has bitten me again and now I am throwing a Mermaid bash for Ava's 8th birthday!

From sparkly starfish wands, to seafoam cupcakes, to Ocean Water punch...this party looks like it may be my favorite one yet! I bought the cutest things on etsy which I'll show soon. But I actually got in the spirit today and made this Mermaid Cove frou frou banner to hang over the buffet table.

My final project using the Pink Ninjas "Scarlet Begonias" May kit is this "i {heart} u" sunflower card. To create it, I cut paper strips and folded them to make a funky, dimensional sunflower.

I took the polka dot ribbon and bunched it up for the center. The floral ribbon was used for the stem. I handcut three hearts out for leaves. And to make the heart in the title, I cut the letter sticker "w" and pieced it together to form a heart. Then I stickled away! Quick and easy!

My third project using the Pink Ninjas May "Scarlet Begonias" kit is a layout of John's Goddaughter, Stephanie, on her wedding day. I loved the photographs of her standing behind the red tulips and knew I wanted to do a layout with them using this kit. So I was pretty happy to see the paper trim with red tulips on it! It also had red Bingo markers with her wedding date, what are the odds! (I won't even mention the pink cabochon rose! Look at her bouquet!) I love it when things work so easily!

The Pink Ninjas have come up with another exciting kit this month. What I love most about the "Scarlet Begonias" kit is that it is so versatile, I can switch it up from a "soft & elegant" layout to "dark & gothic" layout....and that's pretty cool for one kit! Using the pretty black cabochon rose, acrylic flowers and Maya Road red and black flowers in the kit, I created this gothic bouquet! I topped it off with 3 tiny yellow rosebuds, some red tulle and sparkly pipe cleaners for stems. Don't be afraid of the black roses...there is a ton of things you can do with them. Halloween is right around the corner!
I added the pretty black and white pleated polka dot ribbon to tie around my bouquet and topped it off with the sparkly black apple skull accent! And lastly, the Thickers "Rainboots" letter stickers included in the kit just pop off the page. Love that yellow, it matches all the papers in this kit perfectly! One of these precious friends I am grateful for is Anita from Castles Crowns and Cottages. Anita always touches my heart through her inspirational blogposts. Anita is a French teacher who has a gift of using beautiful imagery combined with her natural gift of writing to create inspirational, powerful messages every week. It has been a lot of fun decorating our new house! Of course, I have been shopping a bit, and etsy is one of my favorite places to find unique home decor....especially wall art. I wanted to pass along these two sellers that I purchased artwork from. One of my finds was a custom vintage inspired, distressed wood sign created by Castle and Cottage that is perfect for our kitchen! It says " Famularo Cafe - Fine Armenian and Italian cuisine, Paris!" Gotta love that!!!

~* Happy Easter, Remembering the Armenian Genocide *~

Today is an important day to many Christians, especially Armenians. It is the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. April 24th is also the remembrance day of the Armenian Genocide that took place 1915 - 1917 by the Ottoman Empire. One and a half million Armenians lost their lives. This is the first time since 1915 that Easter and the Remembrance Day have fallen on the same day. It's a meaningful coincidence. Armenia was the first country who held Christianity as it's nation's religion. The Armenian people were brutally killed because of this faith.

Every once in awhile I test my Armenian cooking skills, so today is perfect for that. I'll be cooking Armenian pilaf & lahmajoon (Armenian pizza!) Wish my aunts in CA could be here! Hope everyone has a wonderful day with their loved ones.

~* Gone but Not Forgotten.... Shell Kepler *~

Some of you may remember gossipy nurse 'Amy Vining' years ago on General Hospital played by actress Shell Kepler. Shell wasn't just a talented actress, she also was an amazing fashion designer. Her popular Lacy Afternoon clothing line sold on HSN and was worth millions. Not only did Shell sell her creations, she also wanted ladies to be creative with their own clothing. So she added to her line "Make Fashion Magic" kits loaded with glue guns, glittery glue sticks, and embellishments such as rhinestones, buttons, pearls and ribbon rosettes for ladies to spice up their wardrobes. It was these kits that inspired me to start using embellishments not only on my clothing but on my layouts as well. I created my own 3-D scrapbooking accent line called 'Button Kisses" which I sold on ebay and to a few scrapbooking stores. Adding dimension to layouts at that time was daring (and I caught some major slack from scrapbookers!) Back then, this was over ten years ago, there were no 3-D embellishments in the scrapbooking marketplace. Today it's a whole other story.

Sadly, Shell passed away in 2008. I still can't believe she is gone. I'm honored to have Shell's personal glue guns that she created magic with. So a little part of Shell is always with me in my studio!

I have designed a few cake layouts in the past and they have always been fun to create. Awhile back I purchased an adorable Marie Antoinette "Let them eat cake" kit from Laura McCollough of A Kiss on the Chic. Her friend had made some pretty wood cakes for these kits. I loved the embellished standing cake that Laura made and it inspired me for this layout. I traced her cake onto patterned paper, used some pop dots for dimension and embellished it with

We've been busy this past month getting settled in our beautiful new home! And while it's been hectic, I'm incredibly happy! It has been well worth the looooong wait getting here. I finally got my studio set up - a shocking pink retreat complete with a sparkly chandelier!!

It is so awesome being in this room!! I swear it glows! It has a great energy too. Part of that reason is because I have some very special pieces in here. My precious grandmother's beautiful vanity and night table hold a lot of my stash.

And the large dresser is also a vintage piece belonging to my husband's dad, who is no longer with us. It holds a TON of my supplies! I'm lucky to have these pieces and I definitely treasure them!

Soooo, here's a HUGE stack of layouts waiting to be put away in albums! Anyone else have this problem?!?!?

This basket was my wedding favor basket, and it is filled to the brim with flowers, mostly Prima!!! Addicted!!!!!!

This is one of many embellishment filled glasses I have on my desk! I'm starting to think I'm a scrapbooking hoarder. But who of us isn't?

Here's a close up of my vintage pink bottle brush Christmas tree that stays up year round. It's filled with fairies and Alice in Wonderland.

And one last look at my space, or the "Pepto Bismol" room as my brother in law Joey calls it!!! And can I just say that my husband is the BEST for letting me paint it this color!!

it was an amazing experience designing for Paris Hilton's Creativity Collection for the past couple of years. The contract with Paris is up and no future collections are expected. Once again I've had the pleasure of using a sketch from the talented Anam Stubbington to create a card for her latest iPhone app: Sketches4Cards! This is the third app release for Anam! She is an amazing artist who also designs for Prima, My Minds Eye, and Twisted Sketches. For my "Hi there" card, I used the adorable "Glitter in the Air" Pink Ninjas January kit!

Anam Stubbington's innovative Sketches2Scrapbook iPhone app is a great idea for scrapbookers on the go with over 100 unique sketches and layouts to keep you inspired. I was honored that Anam invited me to do a couple of layouts for her. And she told us it is okay to share our layouts, so here are the two I did with her fabulous sketches.The first layout is of my friend Christy's adorable dog Zoey. Christy I'll send this to you soon girl!

The next layout is of my little Pirate Princess Ava! I have to tell you, I wasn't one to ever do a layout from sketches! These were a first. But I am lovin' how easy it is to put together a layout when you have a sketch to inspire you!

It has been a pleasure showcasing Tina McDonald's designs with the Paris Hilton Creativity Collection this week. Her creations are all unique, beautiful and perfect for the holidays! Her final project is no exception either. Take a look at this gorgeous, sparKly rolled flower ornament she created with papers from the Rock Star Diva scrapbooking theme kit!!!!! This is beyond creative! And Tina has been gracious enough to share a tutorial of how she created it!

Supplies Needed:

Patterned paper

Strong adhesive (Helmar's Liquid Glue Dots)

Stickles or glitter glue

1 styrofoam ball

Long stick pins with a large head

2 inch circle punch

Silver thread or ribbon to hang

How to:

1. Punch several circles out from patterned paper.

2. Cut spiral from outside to center of circle as shown in photo.

3. Starting from the outside, roll tightly to form a flower bud. Tuck final under and around to form base.

4. Now, set the flower down, allowing it to uncoil some and relax.

5. Open the bottom flap and apply a nice fat dab of Helmar's liquid scrap dots.If you don't have any, get some! LOL But for now, you can try a hot glue gun or another really strong adhesive. Press flower into glue and hold until set.

***At this point I would set the flower aside and create another...the liquid scrap dots will need some time to cure. There are lots of flowers to be made! :)

6. Once the flower is well set, apply a dab of liquid scrap dots to the bottom of the flower and stick to the styrofoam ball. To hold in place, I stuck a pin to the center while the scrap dots cured. Again, if no scrap dots are available, you can use a glue gun or other strong adhesive.

7. Repeat step #6, adding flowers tightly to each other, thus reducing the amount of styrofoam visible between. Using a light colored paper helps it to be less visible. If you choose to use a darker colored paper, you might want to paint the styrofoam before you begin.

8. After the entire ball is filled with flowers, I added a stick pin to the top and tied a silver thread to it. you can use a ribbon or whatever you like for this step! :)

9. Allow the ball to sit overnight to be sure all the adhesive has time to set.

In the morning, remove all the stick pins.

10. Add the Stickles to each individual flower in a swirling circular motion. Don't be too fussy...it's going to look fabulous when it dries! (You will notice I had done this before letting is sit overnight! It made a mess on my pins, but if you're okay with that, it cuts down on drying time!) Once this is dry, you are done!

You're ready to gift it...or display it! I had initially planned to hang it on my tree, but it is a bit heavy, so it is more of a kissing ball for me! Wherever you hang it, make sure to hang it where it will be seen! Any project that takes that much work deserves it!!

~* Christmas Pendant Ornaments Tutorial by Tina McDonald *~

Tis' the season for sparKly ornaments!! Aren't these cute!!

Tina McDonald used the Rock Star Diva scrapbooking theme kit from the Paris Hilton Creativity Collection to create these pretty pendant ornaments for her tree! And she was nice enough to share a tutorial on how to make them! Girls of all ages will have fun making these custom ornaments for their trees! Moms and daughters- it's time to get creative!!

1. Cut 2 strips of paper 1 1/2 inches X 12 inches.

2. Run one side of each through a border punch.

3. Using a stylus, score the papers at 1/4 or 1/2 inch intervals. I determine this depending on the border punch I use.

4. Fold the paper into an accordian.

5. I adhered the two pieces together using Helmar's Premium Craft Glue. Glue the other sides together as well to make one big circle.

6. Turn paper on it's side to create a circle as shown.

7. Adhere a small punched circle to the front and back of this circle.

8. Embellish as desired.

9. I added Stickles to the folds to create a beautiful shimmer to the ornaments.

10. Tie on a light string and you're ready to hang them on your tree!!

It's an awesome iphone and ipad application she designed consisting of over 100 sketches and layouts that is due to launch in early November! ~* It's PiNkY & aLLy TiMe! *~ Paris Creativity

So we are under contract and I'm packing up my studio today! It's really hard to pack away everything indefinitely, but it's time to move on. And I wish the new homeowners much happiness here in this house. My fellow talented design team girls Pinky and Ally have made some beautiful projects using the Paris Hilton Creativity Collection.This first project designed by Pinky is an Ink Me Baby autograph book that she made using the Unibind. She used patterned paper from Flashes and Stars and some Paris bling for the cover. Very Hollywood, she should send it to Paris!

And Ally made these two adorable layouts using the Birthday Girl and Jet Set Life scrapbooking theme kits. She layered lots of flowers with bling centers, so pretty!

I have some very talented guest designers with the Paris line that I'm so excited to showcase coming up in the near future! In the meantime,thanks so much for all of your good wishes on the house and the upcoming move.

~* a sparKly PARIS bIrThDaY bAnNeR *~

Instead of buying birthday decorations, girls can make their own! Birthday banners are a fun and easy project for girls of all ages. This one was created using the Birthday Girl scrapbooking theme kit from Paris Hilton's Creativity Collection. All I did was cut triangles from the patterned paper, stapled them to pink paper fringe, add some chipboard letters and embellish with stickers from the kit, pink silk roses and white tulle bows.

I am going to try to design as much as I can with the Paris Hilton line until I pack up my studio indefinitely for our move, which hopefully is in the near future. In my 'designing absence,' I plan on having some very talented guest designers along with Pinky and Ally creating with this fun line.

Speaking of Paris, yesterday she tweeted that she awoken to some guy trying to break into her home. He had 2 huge knives on him. Thank God he was arrested and she is okay.

Erika actually inspired me to get creative this weekend. I made a birthday card and the birthday ~* WISH*~ wand below with the Paris Hilton Birthday Girl scrapbooking theme kit. For $14.99, these all inclusive kits are pretty cool and have everything a girl needs to create pretty projects.

For the birthday wand, I cut two 12 X 2 inch strips of paper, accordian folded them, and sealed the ends. I glittered the edges with pink german glass for some sparkle and attached stickers from the kit and a blue painted stick. The accordian pinwheels would make cute cupcake toppers. You can string a few of them together for a birthday banner. They're a great alternative to a bow for a present or even a layout embellishment. There are so many cute things you can do with them!

I'm so excited to show these four beautiful cards that were created by the talented Erika Taylor, our Paris Hilton Creativity Collection Guest Designer. Soooo, we have been on the market for 40 days.

Yesterday we had a realtors' open house. 32 real estate agents came and toured our home. Our real estate agent brought party trays and I prepared the beverages. It was like throwing a party (which I love doing) only we couldn't stay to enjoy it! But that's okay!

We are very optimistic one of them will bring great some buyers to us! In fact, one realtor thought he had a family that would be interested! All of the realtors said we were priced perfectly for our area. So no need to reduce our price again, we already did that once to $330,000.

We're not in a hurry to move until we get that final word on the new job in Florida. Cross your fingers, I'd much rather be scrapping than cleaning! But it will all be worth it in the end!

This layout is ancient! It's my early work updated with a few Prima flowers and mixed media! But it's sunny and bright, just like Florida - which is where I'm hoping our family will find magic as it could be our new residence if all goes as planned. We're still awaiting confirmation on that. No, it's not football season yet, but it's getting closer! Most of you know I am passionate about football, especially the 49ers. A lot of you are football fans and I love that! Today I want to give special thanks to a fellow 49ers faithful friend (and very talented artist) Siobhan of Adventures from the Monkey Hut, who surprised me with some beautiful gifts yesterday. Siobhan makes beautiful cards. In fact, 3 of her cards are being published in the Summer 2010 edition of Just Cards! Siobhan sent me this awesome throwback Jerry Rice jersey that I'm wearing! I ADORE it! I didn't have a Jerry jersey!! Now my wardrobe is complete!

And on top of that, she sent me these beautiful 49ers personalized straps!!!!! These are so cool! Siobhan, I don't even have the words to express my thanks to you... actually, I can't thank you enough. I wish you were closer so we could watch (and yell at) our team together!

This couldn't have come at a better time either. I was just in the ER a couple of days ago with strange abdominal spasms and a sprained back! So what a nice surprise. I know I've been MIA, and if you haven't heard from me, that's why! I'm in some serious pain, (can ya see me grimacing here!) but things could be worse! Hope ALL of you are having a great week!

In memory of my sweet friend Christina's fur baby, Baron

who's now playing with the angels at Rainbow Bridge!

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and all our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill or old are restored back to healty and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly one begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

~* LoVe *~ at the top of the Dallas Skyline

Last night we attended a beautiful wedding for our good friend Giovanni's brother, who we've known since we moved to Dallas almost 15 years ago. Being Italian like my hubby, Giovanni is more like a brother to John. The reception was at Reunion Tower, one of the most recognizable landmarks in Dallas. We had an incredible time. You can see I didn't go with the Anthropologie dress~ that one didn't work out! Kyle actually picked this dress for me! Okay come on up and check it out!!!

Here we are! This is the observation deck where dinner was catered by Wolfgang Puck's Five Sixty restaurant, which is at the very top of Reunion Tower. It's 50 stories high and revolves, giving a 360 degree view of Dallas. It was amazing! And the food, spectacular!

And speaking of yummy, here is my honey John, who I never show cuz he's always the one behind the camera taking pictures for me!!!!! We kind of felt like JR and Sue Ellen Ewing when they filmed having dinner up here overlooking City Hall- we're HUGE Dallas fans! :)

And here we are posing with the beautiful newlyweds, Francesco and Ginny, who make the most perfect couple!! Francesco's parents and sister are here from Italy, then in a few months, they'll go through this all over again in Italy having another wedding celebration with Francesco's family there!!! How great is that! We were so happy to be included in their special day!

I love this little critter! She's definitely not the friendliest pet in the world! At least not yet anyways. She hisses and bites at me - and that's when she isn't trying to stab me with her quills! Little stinker! But when I have chicken, she's my best friend! She finally put her spikes down and let me pet her! I discovered the trick - handle her ONLY when you have treats!
