~* So HaRd tO sAy GoOdByE *~

We had to say goodbye to our beautiful cat, Fiona, this past Wednesday. She was only three years old and unbeknownst to us, she was born with a defective kidney. She deteriorated so fast, and sadly there was nothing we could do to save her. We were all at her side when she made her way to Rainbow Bridge.
It's a unique pain and type of grieving when we lose our fur babies. She was such a gorgeous cat and I miss her so much. But I believe in my heart we will be together again one day.
Love never dies.

~* life is sweet *~ Lisa Kettell Designs

When I'm out junkin,' I always keep an eye open for vintage frames like this 5X7 oval one. I removed the glass and backing, spray painted the metal pink and glued fabric along the back edges with the print facing forward. Next, I glued assorted colored pearls along the inner edge and added a tea stained tag with a couple of Lisa Kettell Designs lollipops and Charlotte doll heads. Lastly, for the embellishments: three pink paper roses, gold crown w/rhinestone, silver dresden foil for crown, pink glitter, rhinestone brooch, printed "life is sweet" phrase and a few different laces and trims. Framed Cuteness!!

While browsing around at an antique store last week, I came upon this old photograph. I have never bought vintage photos of strangers before! But this one spoke to me. I surrounded this trio of besties in beautiful ecru trims I found at The Gilded Life and pretty double ruffled tulle trim and German paper trim from one of my favorite etsy sellers, Julie Collings.  I topped it off with a pearl and rhinestone Teresa Collins vintage medallion. I wonder if these ladies could have ever imagined that their special moment would be admired and treasured by a total stranger years later!

When I was little, I loved playing with my grandma's costume jewelry. After she passed, I was lucky to get the few precious pieces she had. Years ago, I started using her pieces to accent my artwork. It was sentimental to me. That became the start of my addiction to these vintage treasures. I'm always on the search for them, whether it's online at ebay or etsy, or when I'm hitting antique shops.  I use them not only in my paper crafts, but to glam up ordinary housewares like this wall mirror. To create one, just remove the backings of vintage earrings and glue along the mirror border. So simple and such a great way to add some vintage glam to your home!! Thank you grandma for the inspiration. You are dearly missed....

Not long ago I was given a huge box filled with precious vintage jewelry which belonged to my dear friend's grandmother, Florence, who had recently passed away. Their family knew that I loved using vintage jewelry in my crafts and they wanted me to have it. This was very special and I wanted to give something back to show my appreciation. So using many of Florence's pieces, and some rhinestones, lace and flowers of my own, I created a memory frame for her daughter.  This is so easy to do and what better way to showcase a photo of a loved one than to surround them by their own pieces that they cherished!!
Made with Love...

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
Cheshire Cat: Oh you can't help that. We're all mad here! I'm mad. You're mad.
Alice: How do you know I'm mad?
Cheshire Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.

~*hApPy mAiL from the talented KiM sMiTh*~

Last week I participated in Lisa Kettell's Spell-A-Pa-Looza blog hop along with some very talented ladies. It was a lot of fun visiting the different participants.  And I definitely didn't expect to win this beautiful Enchanted Spell Bottle created by the talented artist Kim Smith. Yesterday it arrived beautifully packaged along with this adorable little gypsy queen journal!

This bottle is just gorgeous. It's loaded with pretty details. I work mainly with paper, so when I see mixed media pieces like this, I am amazed! I can't believe Kim parted with this, but I am sure grateful to own it! Kim is also on the creative design team for Lisa KettellHer creations have been published quite a bit, most recently in Piddlestixs and Somerset Studio. Stop by her blog Tabitha Lenox and her etsy store to see more of her beautiful creations! Thank you for making my day ~*EnChAnTiNg*~ Kim!

~*my 'GeT YoUr BrEw-M oN' Starbucks gift card winner is...*~

Thank you so much to those who visited me and left a comment on my wicked broom make-over post in Lisa Kettell's Spell-A-Pa-Looza blog hop!

I used my Book of Shadows to create a wicKed broom for the event, and I wanted YOU to get YOUR BREW-M ON TOO with a chance to win a $20 Starbucks gift card!

So all of the names of those who commented were written on magical pink papers and put in a crystal bowl.

I waved my magicK wand over it three times chanting "Drink Me!" My beautiful assistant/witness/daughter Ava pulled out the sparkly winner who I am happy to announce is...

Congratulations to you!
Enjoy those holiday brews from Starbucks!
E-mail your address to and I'll get that on it's way!
