~* Everything's Coming Up Roses! *~

Guest designing for Color Me Miki this month was lots of fun, and everything was coming up roses with this "Oh My, Cherry Pie!" July kit! This little box was the first thing I made with my kit as I was instantly drawn to the beautiful papers included! I wanted to make something fabulous, unique, and most of all, easy!

I had bought a decoupage box at Hobby Lobby for next to nothing. I covered it in the cute bird paper using Tombow glue. This is not my speciality, but even I could do it! Then it was time for the roses. I hand cut them all from pretty Jenni Bowlin paper and layered them on top of each other using pop dots. To get even more dimension, I took a blade and cut petals here and there and lifted them. Next I cut the leaves out and randomly placed them around the dimensional rose, placing one on the edge of the lid for a funky look. I then adhered ribbons at the box top edge and tied with bows in front. For sparkle, I used the shiny blue stickles at all the flower edges and topped the center of the rose with a Jenni Bowlin rhinestone accent.

~* CoLoR Me MiKi JulY kITs & more...*~

Color Me Miki has their fun July kit photos up! The first kit shown below, "Oh My, Cherry Pie!" was the one I got to play with. Jenni Bowlin & Webster's Pages allowed for some fun and easy projects such as this "Sweet as Pie" card! And as you know, I'm not a card maker! But can ya see the sparKle with the Stickles!?!? Gotta LOVE that! The first thing that caught my eye in this kit, that very cool red roses paper!

Next up is the super cute "He Said, She Said!" kit. Awesome kit names, huh!

This one has Sassafras & Prima swirls, just to name a few! You can see sample layouts on Terri's Blog from both kits. And it's Color Me Miki's anniversary this month. So keep an eye out for fun things happening there!

On a personal note, both of my in-laws have been hospitalized not only in different facilities, but in different towns back in MA for the past 6 weeks. Just today, they were able to finally both be together in a new facility in the same room. John's parents have been married over 55 years, and our family is so happy that they are reunited at last! I want to thank all of your for your kind thoughts and prayers regarding them. It's been a very tough time for John's family. I know John is grateful, and so am I!

Alyssa is the daughter of one of my best friends. Not only is she gorgeous, but you'll probably see her competing someday as an Olympic gymnast representing the US.

So this "STAR" layout couldn't be more fitting for her, and it is was created using the July

"Oh My, Cherry Pie!" kit from Color Me Miki. Terri will have some July kit pics up soon, but here is a little tease of what you can expect with her amazing kits! Have a great weekend everybody!

What a surprise and huge honor it was in the midst of everything going on to be asked if I could be featured on Inspirational! The very talented Danielle asked me, and I was like "Me? Really?" So today I am on their amazing blog which just blows my mind!

In the meantime, I should have a new computer hopefully this weekend. I feel lost without mine. Our laptop isn't cutting it, but it's definitely better than nothing! And I want to thank everyone again for their thoughts and prayers for my in-laws. John and I appreciate that so much!

When it rains it pours! My computer totally crashed 2 days ago! I need a whole new system, so I am trying to do everything on my laptop which is a total pain. I hope the Geek Squad can recover all my pictures and e-mail addresses when they come tomorrow! ugh!

I thought I would go crazy without the internet & e-mails until John got home with our laptop, but actually it was a blessing in disguise as I got to spend some quality time with my kids and even had a little time to create. I FINALLY finished a scrapbook of Paris' boyfriend Sparky for my girlfriend that I think I started a year ago! I used an ancient Clear Scraps 'WOOF' album and Bo Bunny's "Posh Pet" line that comes in pink and blue (I found both colors on ebay!!)

Look at Paris posing, like SHE did all the work!!!! So when I get up and running on my new system, I'll be back!! Until then, hugs .....xOxO

This is one of the first kits I ever purchased from Laura McCollough. I found her on the internet over a year ago and I loved her work. Fortunately for all of us, she formed an amazing kit club and this past year I have had the honor to design for her and

A Kiss on the Chic.

To say this has been an incredible experience would be an understatement. It was my first time designing for anyone, and I was Blessed to have had this opportunity.

Sadly, yesterday I had to step down from my DT position for a couple of reasons including current family situations and an upcoming opportunity which I can't disclose quite yet.

Laura is well aware of these changes in my life, and I want to thank her for her support and for the wonderful opportunity she has given me. Even though I'm not designing for Laura anymore, she knows I will always consider her to be a friend who is dear to my heart and I wish her TONS of success which I know she will have!!
