~*bYe bYe nEw yeArs!...*~

...move on by cuz Valentine's Day is up next! And that always brings about MY favorite material to scrap. I have a 5 year tradition doing Valentine's portraits of my kids. I'm sure I'll get some protesting from my son this year, but I'll win that battle, I guarantee you!

~* oh la la *~ mY nEw yeaR's reS!

I am starting one of my New Year's resolutions early, and that is to re-scrap pages I loathe that I made long ago! I promised myself I would never do that because what I made earlier was my style then, and it was the trend at the time. But sorry to say, I just can't look at some of the layouts without getting irritated! My happy medium is to try to keep some elements the same & just jazz it up a little! So here, I kept the trio of pictures exactly the same, used a more modern patterned paper that matched Ava's dress, some florals, ribbons, rhinestones, a vintage piece & stick pin. Then for the title, I wanted the background to look like the headband Ava is wearing in the photos. My goal is to always try to match my photos as close as I can with paper & embellishments. And I always try to add some sp*rKle!
Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to show you a 'before & after!' We'll see!
Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Our Family Dollhouse!
This was a shadowbox kit from A Kiss on the Chic.
Pop dots give the photos a nice, dimensional effect inside the shadowbox.
Don't forget the bling for sparKle!

my PINK stilettos

Well, so much for the Pink Stilettos. That's my fantasy football team that got crushed in the playoffs due to a cute quarterback who shall remain nameless :

Oh well, the Pink Stilettos will make a comeback next year! And Tony, you're being replaced by Donovan McNabb!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's what I get for cheating on my team with a Cowboy!

Hmmmm, now there's some serious 'boy candy' going on here! This calls for a layout! I'm inspired now! xOxO

I can't believe that my baby girl is in Kindergarten!
Making Memories "Delaney" patterned scallop paper was a fun background for Ava's colorful Kindergarten photo. I added paper lace, ribbon, letter stickers, rhinestone border, Jenni Bowlin die cut, silk flower, Heidi Swapp clock & wings, & vintage book page & brooch.

My little Dorothy & I~
There's no place like home!

~* hO hO hO *~

Again, from the Kiss on the Chic december kit, this
Chritmas wall hanging was pretty simple. In fact, I'll show you how easy it was.
Attach small paper tag with a photo in the center of the Joy card.
Hole punch the center of each star. Thread the red ribbon through each
hole and attach a jingle bell, then knot to make the hanger.
Using a glue gun, attach vintage lace at the bottom of the card.
Now, take the green polka dot ribbon and glue it in a bow shape right over the lace. Next glue the white pom pom trim at the top of the card. Then glue the round ornament shape on top to the backside of the card. Lastly, attach the red flower and sparKly pom pom in the center!

Special thanks to my fellow DT girl Melanie for her idea to post instructions on our blogs. Check out her amazing designs at:

All I wish for is right here!
This "tussie mussie" hanging ornament was
made with the Kiss on the Chic "Christmas is Coming to Town" kit.
I adhered the Pink Paislee Tinsel Town paper around a cardboard cone, added embellishments such as lace, tulle, brooch, and floral picks - and voila, a sparKly & uniQue ornament!
